Problem 1(10 pts) Two reservoirs are connected by two rough pipes in series. The entrance and exit to and from the reservoir are flush and submerged. The first pipe is 600 m long and 200 mm in diameter(e=2 mm) and the second pipe is 900 m long and 400 mm in diameter (e=3 mm). The junction between the two pipes is a sudden expansion. Other fittings present are 1 globe valve (k=10) in the 200-mm- and two 450-bends (k=0.2) in the 400-mm-Ø. Also, a gate valve (k=5) is present near the submerged end on the 400-mm-Ø pipe. Determine the difference in elevations between the two reservoirs if Q=120 L/s of water (v=lx10-6 mº/s)
