I just need the answer for question e, thx.
(a) Determine the scenario that will create the maximum bending moment and shear stress on the simply supported beam. (b) Draw the shear force diagram and bending moment diagram based on the loading condition and derive the equations for bending moment and shear force. (c) Determine the size of I beam with specifications shown below with the smallest possible section that can carry the bending moment in the simply supported beam. Maximum allowable stress is 60 kPa. 10t H 1.4t 5t (d) Decide on an alternative steel hollow square section with the loading condition specified in section (a) if the shearing stress is limited to 2 MPa. Discuss its difference with previous section in detail. Which section is your preference? Explain your reason. 5t 7.8t (e) Find the deflections of beam based on the worst-case scenario that you chose in part (a) above, and compare results. What is your judgement on the deflection? Is it acceptable or not?
