3. A plane is flying at 250 m/s through 30°C air using a jet engine for propulsion. As air enters the engine (at 250 m/s), it passes through a diffuser section to be initially compressed before it reaches the main compressor of the engine. The diffuser converts some of the kinetic energy of this high speed airflow to reduce the load on the compressor. As the diffuser decreases the air speed to 15 m/s for the exiting flow, what is the increase in temperature across the device? (We can assume the diffuser is insulated, and the ideal gas properties remain fairly constant during this process.)
