An ideal Otto Cycle has a compression ratio of 10. At the
beginning of the compression process, air is at 100 kPa, 0.004 m3
and 10Β°C. The maximum cycle temperature is 1200oC. Use
cold-air-standard assumptions (𝑐𝑝 =1.005 π‘˜π½ π‘˜π‘”πΎ,𝑐𝑣 = 0.718 π‘˜π½ π‘˜π‘”πΎ,π‘˜
=1.4), determine
a) Maximum pressure in the cycle [10 marks]
b) the heat rejection and the net work output, [5 marks]
c) the thermal efficiency. [5 marks]
