A simple airplane warms up the cabin air for the passengers by collecting heat from the exhaust vapor of the engine. The double pipe counter flow heat exchanger moves cabin air at 0.25 kg/s, heating from 0 deg C to 25 deg C. The engine exhaust vapor moves at 7 kg/s, initially at 75 deg C. The inner tube has a diameter = 3 cm. Because of fouling on all of the surfaces of the heat exchanger, the overall heat transfer coefficient is only 400 W/m^2*K. Using the effectiveness-NTU method, how long does the double pipe need to be for the cabin air? a
