Consider a steam power plant where a dry and saturated steam from the boiler of pressure P1 bar enter into the turbine. If the condenser maintains the pressure of P2 bar, then calculate overall steam turbine plant efficiency (neglect pump work) by the use of steam tables. Also calculate the Carnot efficiency and justify why the Rankine cycle is preferred over the Carnot cycle.
