6. A vertical venturi meter carries a liquid of relative density of 0.8 and has an inlet and throat diameters of 150 mm and 75 mm respectively. The pressure connection at the throat is 150 mm above that of the inlet. If the actual flow rate is 40 litres/sec and Cd for the meter is 0.96, compute a) the difference in pressure between the inlet and the throat; b) the difference in levels of a vertical mercury-liquid manometer connected between these points. The tubes above the mercury are filled with the liquid. Specific density of mercury is 13.56. (ans: 34.53 kN/m², 266.5 mm)
