Two truck drivers are arguing about who can drive uphill (0 = 99) from NDU's Main campus to Jeita faster with his truck, when supplying an equal amount of power of 500 kW (under different conditions). The first driver, whose truck has a fairing, claims that when he is driving with a tail wind (wind blowing in the same direction of the motion of the truck) of 9 km/h, he can go faster than the second driver, whose truck has a fairing and a gap seal, is driving into a head wind (wind blowing in the opposite direction of motion of the truck) of 2 km/h. Both trucks have the same mass of 20000 kg and same frontal area estimated at 10.2 m2. The coefficient of rolling resistance of the trucks is 0.005. Can you validate the first truck driver's claim?
