An ideal ram jet is flying at Mach 3 at an altitude of (14.5)
km. Assume that the thermodynamic properties of the entire engine
are constant and equal to: γ = 1.4 and R = 287 J / Kg.K Also, the
amount of heat released per kilogram burned in the combustion
chamber is equal to 45 megajoules. It is desirable: a) The maximum
stationary temperature in the engine in conditions where the ratio
of fuel flow to air flow is f = 0.023
B) If the flight mach is variable, in which flight mach is the
special trust maximum maximized? For simplicity, assume a
fuel-to-air ratio of constant (f = 0.023). Also consider the
maximum tolerable temperature of the structure is 1600 degrees
Kelvin.
