The system shown in the figure below is initially on no load with generators operating at their rated voltage with their emfs in phase. The rating of the generators and the transformers and their respective percent reactances are marked on the diagram. All resistances are neglected. The line impedance is j160 22. Note: Don't forget to convert generator reactances to 100 MVA base. Determine the short-circuit current and the short-circuit MVA for the following three phase balanced faults occurring at: 60 MVA, 30 kV x = 24% X = 16% BE to X1 = 1602 100 MVA 30/400 kV 40 MVA, 30 kV x = 24% (a) the 30 kV generator busbar (b) the HV side of the transformer (c) the receiving end of the transmission line (d) from the above results of the 3 fault locations infer as to how does the fault impedance affect the short circuit current
