A 600-KVA, 34.5kV/6.6kV, 60-Hz, single-phase step-down transformer has a core-loss equivalent resistance of 7 ks and a magnetization reactance of 5.5 k 2. The equivalent winding total impedance as referred to the primary side is 34 + j115.7 12. Using the approximate equivalent circuit, 1) Determine the transformer efficiency and voltage regulation when it operates at 75% of rated load with a power factor of 0.8 lagging. 2) Calculate the load at maximum efficiency and the maximum efficiency of the transformer for the load power factor of 0.8 lagging.
