As shown in the figure, there are four information flows that
are intended to transport through a single physical channel. at the
end of transmission, the multiplexer designed in the previous
exercise is available, while that at the receiving end there is a
demultiplexer with one input and 4 Departures. It has been
determined that for none of the 4 bonds of communication is
affected, it is pertinent to enable data flow A during 3
consecutive clock pulses, stream B for 2 consecutive clock pulses,
while streams C and D require only transmitting during one pulse of
Watch.

A) Design a synchronous counter with 7 different states (0 to 6)
to define
the 7 time slots required for the transmission of the 4 data
streams. How many output bits does this counter have?
B) Design the encoder that takes the counter outputs from the
previous paragraph and is responsible for instructing (controlling)
the multiplexing/demultiplexing system so that the system operates
satisfactorily. Note that this encoder takes the counter outputs as
inputs and the selection signals as outputs.
of the multiplexer/demultiplexer.
Note: The figure shows that the designed devices are repeated in
both sides of the link to ensure the correct flow of data. Usually
the transmit and receive clocks are synchronized to achieve the
optimal system performance. The circuits that ensure this
synchronism are not shown. For the exercise you can assume a single
watch or simply concentrate on one end of the link.
