Question 2:
A 6-pole DC series motor is connected to a
230V DC supply and draws a current of
50A. The resistance of the armature and series
field circuit are 0.2 ohm and 0.15 ohm respectively. The armature
is lap-wound with 522 conductors and the useful flux per pole is
0.035 Wb. Calculate the back EMF and speed of the motor. Assume 1V
per brush as brush drop.

1) What is the back EMF in V? [4 significant figures]
2) What is the speed of the motor in rpm? [3 significant
Figures]
