S.C Zo = 10022 50 Ω Q32 A 50-MHz generator with Zg = 50 2 is connected to a load Z = 50 - 125 12. The time-average power – transferred from the generator into the load is maximum when Zg = Zi, where Zi is the complex conjugate of ZL. To achieve this condition without changing Zg, the effective load impedance can be modified by adding a short-circuited (S.C) line in series with Zł, as shown in the figure. If the line's Zo = 1002, determine the shortest length of line (in wavelength) necessary for satisfying the maximum-power-transfer condition. Answer: TE ZL 50-7.
