Course: Process Instrumentation and Control Engineering When gasoline is loading into a truck, gasoline companies add their own mixture of additives to the fuel. An operator pushes a Start button to begin the filling process when the loading hose is connected to the truck. The gasoline and the additive mixture need to be pumped from their holding tanks and mixed such that QGasoline the gasoline to additive mixture volumetric flow rate is 10. That is, 10, Qadditive where Q Gasoline is the gasoline volumetric flow rate in gals/min and Q Additive is the additive mixture volumetric flow rate in gals/min. Ratio Control is used to maintain this flow ratio constant. When the gasoline truck is full, the operator will press a Stop button to stop pumping the gasoline/additive mixture. = Design one of the following for the automatic gasoline dispenser: 1. Mechanical flow sheets (process and instrumentation diagram) 2. Instrument specification sheets 3. Process flow sheets 4. Loop wiring diagrams Note: For the design, consider all practical considerations: materials and sizes of components, selection of appropriate controllers, final control elements, costs, sensors, etc.
