Case Study Sri runs a small Indian restaurant, "Sri Eats" in Blacktown. "Sri Eats" always used paper to manage their orders and billing. Meaning, when a customer calls the front counter with an order, the front counter writes down customer details and the order. It passes that order paper to kitchen. Kitchen prepares the food items listed, packs them, and pastes the order paper on the package. Delivery driver picks up the package and delivers it to the address written on the package. Slowly business started attracting more customers. As the customer base grew, Sri started having problems serving them. As the orders were kept on a paper, Chefs in the kitchen started preparing wrong orders, delivery drivers started delivering wrong packages. Finally, Customers started complaining about late service or wrong deliveries. To address this issue Sri decided to invest in a database. He wants to start with the ordering system. He wants a simple database that can store "Sri Eats” menu items, customer details, Employee Details, and the order information. A part Menu of Sri Eats is shown in Figure 1 in which you can see some of the item names, their price, and item category (signature dish, Starters, etc.) moreover it is essential to save the type of the item such as Sea food, Lamb, Vegetarian etc. To deliver the order on time a delivery driver needs to know the customer's name, address, phone number. Also, Sri wants to expand this system in future, so he wants to store customers email address as well. Sri Eats invoice sample is shown in Figure 2. Basically, it stores customer information and the customer order.
