(a) Describe the general principles used in machine vision edge
detection algorithms. Review two techniques and identify the
advantages and disadvantages of each.
(b) (i) Briefly describe the purpose of Template Matching and
two commonly used algorithms to perform this function.
(ii) Identify two limitations of these
algorithms.
(c) Advanced manufacturing technology is considered to be
difficult to implement successfully. Using Tranfield and Smith’s
Implementation Cube or another model you are familiar with, clearly
identify how it can assist in understanding and supporting the
implementation of advanced manufacturing technology. Use an example
to illustrate your answer.
