Activity 6: Integumentary system represents multiple tissues. Demonstrate mastery of the structure- function-location relationships by checking (X) the tissues/structures in the table below. 1.5 points Structure or Tissue Epidermis Dermis Hypodermis Stratifled squamous epithelium - keratinized Adipose tissue Dense irregular connective tissue Sensory receptors Loose Areolar connective tissue Glandular epithelial tissue Blood vessels Activity 2: Diseases and disorders of the skin, hair, and nails can be local, or they may be caused by an underlying systemic problem, Describe the rationale of a nurse asking the questions to a patient 2 points 1. The thickness of the burn- how many layers of skin as well as the amount of other tissue damaged is used to classify the degree of the bum. The classification levels of burns include the following degrees: Eirst degree burns Redness and pain of the affected skin. Minor epithelial damage occurs without formation of blisters. Typically occurs with sunburns. Superficial second degree (partial thickness) burns. Complete epithelial damage and only papillary dermal damage occurs. It causes pain, bleeds and presents with blisters. Epithelial repair occurs within 14 days, and mostly leaves no scars after healing. Sometimes discoloration remains
