lowest masses as the final average mass. 2 Determination of Ksp using Ion Selective Electrodes (ISE) 2.1 Dilute the saturated ammonium nitrate solution by transferring 500 mL of the saturated solution to a 100.0 mL volumetric flask and dilute this to the mark using distilled water. 2.2 Your instructor will indicate if you are measuring the ammonium or the nitrate ion by ISE. Circle the ion you are measuring in the table. If you are measuring ammonium ion then perform the dilution assigned by the instructor of the ammonium chloride stock solution. Be sure to record the concentration of the ammonium chloride stock solution in addition to what dilution of the solution you prepared. If you are measuring the nitrate ion by ISE then do the same dilution of the stock sodium nitrate solution again recording both the concentration of the stock solution as well as the dilution of the solution you prepared. 2.3 Confirm with the instructor that the ISE electrode has been calibrated then measure both you diluted ammonium nitrate solution and your diluted stock solution. Note that the display on the LabQuest should read a value for each solution in mg/L and this represents the ion only (not the compound). a
