UNO Walking Tour Now that you have finished the classroom contouring exercise, let's go take a look at the actual topography. With your instructors guide you will be asked to make an improved contour map. Along the way, we hope that you will gain more insight into the significance of topographic contours. Once you know the basics of topographic maps, you will have the tools that will be useful for the rest of your life. As the class is walking to the map site, your instructor will explain a little bit about the geology of our campus. Following the second map exercise, the class walking tour will continue. Eventually, your instructor will lead you back to the classroom. While the walk is not intended to be rigorous, if you have any difficulties don't hesitate to talk to the instructor. Have a great time and learn a lot!
