A small hydropower plant has a pipeline that carries water from
a dam down to turbines. The inlet to the pipe is 30 m below
the water surface of the dam. The outlet is located 120 m
below the inlet. Assume that the atmospheric pressure is the same
at the outlet of the pipeline as at the surface of the pond and
that the water level in the pond does not changes significantly
during bottling. Ignore all forms of friction. The diameter of the
pipe street is 20.0 cm at the inlet, and 12.0 cm at the
outlet.
-How much speed does the water have at the inlet of the
pipe?
-How big is the pressure there? Assume that the atmospheric
pressure is p0 = 1,013 · 105 Pa.
