A patient comes into your E.R. who has just been revived from
drowning in Lake Placid. The patient is displaying symptoms of
neurological dysfunction, complains of headache and slips into a
coma. The E.R. doctor orders an I.V. of hypertonic mannose. Within
a few hours the patient makes a full recovery.
Explain how the hypertonic mannose saves the patient.
Please give a good explanation.
