You work in a hospital, and you are dealing with an injectable solution formulation of a highly unstable anti-cancer drug. The drug is available as a freeze-dried powder and is reconstituted into a solution before administering it to patients. You have been tasked with determining the shelf-life of the solution. What information is needed for you to determine the shelf-life? How will you use this information to determine the shelf-life? For the purposes of this discussion, assume that: i) The drug in solution may undergo zero order decomposition; and, ii) Degradation of 10% of the drug is acceptable. In other words, your objective is to determine t10%, or the amount of time it takes for 10% of the drug to degrade.
