Exercise 1 Simulation 1 Ecosystem Dynamics: Assess the Effect of Fertilizers on the Phosphorus Cycle In this exercise the phosphorus cycle will be used to explain geochemical cycling and the effect we have in using fertilizer to increase crop yield both on yield but on the environment. Follow the instructions, you may get stuck at the end as the simulation is a bit fuzzy on how the use of fertilizer changes the other processes. It would be helpful if you worked with a partner. Exercise 2 Simulation 2 The Carbon Cycle: Reduce carbon emissions In this exercise the carbon cycle will be discussed, and the impact fossil fuels on that cycle. In this you will be able to see the effect of fossil fuel use and changes in the available crops that farmers use for their animals. As previous the simulation is a bit fuzzy so work with a partner.
