Post by answerhappygod »

Next generation sequencing of microbial genomes frequently
produces draft genomes represented by a high number of contigs,
while newer third-generation sequencing technologies produces
closed genomes (one contiguous DNA sequence)
Please explain what is the advantage of having a closed rather
than a draft genome sequence (in the interpretation of the biology
of the organism).
