The oxidation of ketones using the Baeyer-Villiger
Oxidation has the following feature: 1) it tolerates the
presence of many functional groups in the molecule, for example,
even with α,β-unsaturated ketones, the oxidation with peroxy acids
generally occurs at the carbonyl group (C=O) and not at the C=C
