The beam has an overall length of 5.42 meters, and has a uniform mass distribution of 13.6 kg. Leonard has a mass of 99.8 kg, and is sitting 1.23 meters from the right end of the board. We can neglect the mass of the cables for this problem. a. (4 pts) Draw a diagram of the situation, showing all the forces acting on the board. b. (2 pts) Make a prediction about which cable will feel the most tension to hold the beam in place. Justify your choice in words, before doing calculations. c. (4 pts) Calculate the tension in each cable. Was your prediction correct? d. (5 pts) Each cable can be considered to be a long cylinder with a diameter of 3.42 centimeters. How much stress does each cable experience? If the cables are initially 25.6 meters long, how much does each stretch under this stress? The elastic modulus of steel is 200 x 10' N/m².
