The properties of water are strongly temperature dependent because the AHıxn of water dissociation is quite large. This characteristic is important when working with natural and engineered hydrothermal systems. One aspect that is important for critical zone environments is the shift in the pH of neutrality (condition where ah+ =a0H-) across temperature. To quantify this shift, please examine the temperature dependence of the equilibrium constant for water dissociation: a. Using the thermos data, what is Keq for water dissociation at 25 C? b. Use the relationship above to calculate neutral pH at 25 C? Show your work. c. Qualitatively, would you predict this reaction to move toward products (forward) or reactants (reverse) with increasing temperature? Please justify your answer, d. Using the Van't Hoff relation, what is the Keg at (human) physiologic temperature of 37 C
