Q2. An ideal Rankine cycle is shown in the images below with a process flow diagram on the left and a T-s diagram on the right. For this ideal Rankine cycle, the boiler (with superheater) operates at 15 MPa and the condenser operates at 50 kPa. The steam is superheated after the boiler to 700 °C. The boiler has 200 MW rate of heat input. In your working, use the same stream numbering as below. Determine: (a) The mass flow rate of water through the boiler (in kg/s). (b) The work required for the pump (in MW).
