An aqueous solution containing 2% mol of ethylene oxide is stripped with air at 30°C and 20 atm. The balance equation is given as ye=0.85xe. 95% of ethylene oxide is recovered with air. The flow rate of the liquid fed to the stripping column is 2500 lbmol/hr. Air + ethylene oxide mixture containing 0.05 mol% ethylene oxide enters the column at a flow rate of 3500 lbmol/hour. The diameter of the column is 4 ft. The individual mass transfer coefficients of the gas and liquid phases are 200 Ibmol/ft3.hour and 165 lbmol/ft3.hour, respectively. Calculate the column height.
