4-4 Develop a preliminary design, including flowrates, pipe sizes, and pipe slopes, for the trunk sewer to be used in the development shown in Fig. 4-14. Flowrate determinations and design conditions are to be based on the following information. Expected saturation population densities and wastewater flows for the various types of housing are given in Table 4-11. Commercial and industrial wastewater flow is estimated to be 28 and 56 m/had, respectively. Average peaking factors are 1.5 for the commercial flows and 3.0 for the industrial flows. The school is to serve 2500 students at ultimate capacity, with an average flow of 80 L/students. d and a peaking factor of 4.0. Hospital and park flows are the same as those listed in Prob. 4-3.
