In a concentric, two-pipe heat exchanger, the pressurized water with a flow rate of 13000 kg/h is heated from 35 °C to 120 °C with a flow of 5000 kg/h with superheated water (pressurized water) at 300 °C inlet temperature. The total heat transfer coefficient is 1500 W/m²K. Use TS 1996 Heat Exchangers standard for design. a) Find the required heat exchanger surface area and size to a suitable length. (Note: It is not practical over a length of 3 m, so it is manufactured in 2 or 3 m length and connected to each other.) b) Calculate the pressure drop. c) Find the insulation thickness to be made outside the body. d) By choosing a suitable thickness, draw a technical drawing of the heat exchanger designed in series.
