The condenser and evaporator temperatures of a R-12 vapour compression refrigeration plant having capacity of 10 tonnes

Post by answerhappygod »

The condenser and evaporator temperatures of a R-12 vapour
compression refrigeration plant having capacity of 10 tonnes are 35
°C and -10 °C respectively. The saturated liquid leaving the
condenser is subcooled by a heat exchanger, on the other side of
which is the saturated vapour leaving the evaporator, in such a way
that the discharge temperature after the isentropic compression is
60 °C. Calculate the following: 1. Degree of subcooling. 2.
Refrigerant flow rate in kg/sec. 3. Cylinder dimensions, if a
two-cylinder single acting compressor having speed of 900 rpm and
stroke to bore ratio of 1.1 with volumetric efficiency of 80 %.
