Question 2 (40 marks). A permanent magnet DC motor has a no-load voltage of 200V at the speed of 3000rpm. Its armature resistance is 1.250. For a constant armature voltage of 200V DC, calculate a) The speed constant Ke (in V/rpm) and the torque constant Kt (in Nm/A); b) The stall (zero speed) current (in A) and torque (in Nm). c) Plot the motor torque / speed characteristic from zero to no-load speed. d) The motor is used to power a machine tool which requires a torque of 50 Nm at a speed of 1000rpm and which varies linearly with the speed. Find the operating speed when this machine tool is driven by this DC motor at a terminal voltage of 200V.
