Q1: Design a power system consisting of 2 different inside plant
bus schemes and 2 different outside plant
arrangements. Please include all details as we have learned in
class. The design must be neat, accurate, and
technically complete to ear full credit.
- 1a) Explain your power system by establishing zones for
each specific area. Use bullets and technical language
as we have applied in class
- 1b): A determined and talented ECET Student has
designed a power system that can be lumped and
modeled as shown. The students recognizes the strength of parallel
paths for reliability and diversity purposes,
however, extremely curious on how to quantify the effectiveness of
the design.
A review of the Equipment list and cross reference with the IEEE
reliability red book shows the following
reliability statistics.
 Equipment Block 1 has a statistical based reliability of
90%
 Equipment Block 2 has a statistical based reliability of
56%
 Equipment Block 3 has a statistical based reliability of
82%
 Equipment Block 4 has a statistical based reliability of
99%
 Equipment Block 5 has a statistical based reliability of
95%
 Equipment Block 6 has a statistical based reliability of
48%
Determine the electric power system reliability score.
