Design a circuit breaker in an SFO. The bandwidth of the receiver circuit should be 500MHz. Temperature T = 300K and receiver current 4nA. The load resistance is 50Ω.
Detector sensitivity 0.5 A / W. The optical power that the meter reaches is 1μW.
a) Calculate the signal-to-noise ratio by neglecting the thermal noise.
b) Calculate the signal-to-noise ratio taking into account the thermal noise.
c) Calculate the signal-noise ratio when an APD with multiplication coefficient M = 100 is set as the detector.
Compare the results.
