There’s a whole personality test you can take, and many people
are familiar with the categories they fall into and can refer to
themselves by their four letters; for example, I believe I’m an
INFP.
Here’s the general breakdown for the way the population
falls:
Favorite World: Extravert: 49.3%, Introvert: 50.7%
Information: Intuition: 26.9%, Sensing:73.1%
Decisions: Feeling: 59.7%, Thinking:40.3%
Structure: Perceiving:46%, Judging:54%
(a) Combinatorics tells us that there are 24 = 16 different
Myer-Briggs personality types. For each of the personality types,
find the probability that a random person has that personality
type.
(b) What’s the probability that a random person is ENTP or
ISFJ?
(c) What’s the probability that a random person is T or J?
