Due to the changing COVID situation in the past 2 years, the
students of X Academy have experienced four different curriculum
models in the past four semesters. In the first semester, before
the pandemic began, face-to-face courses were held as scheduled. In
the second semester, when the pandemic reached its peak, the
courses had to be conducted entirely online. In the third semester,
as the pandemic subsided, online and face-to-face courses were
conducted in a mixed mode. Finally, in the fourth semester, an
outbreak on the campus caused the entire school to suspend classes,
and only recorded lecture videos were available. The table below
shows the semester GPAs of five students that were chosen at
random.

(a) Researchers want to examine the impact of the curriculum
model on students' academic performance. Analyze the data by hand
with an appropriate statistical test. Show all steps of the
calculation. Include the appropriate statistical hypotheses and
summarize the conclusion of the analysis with a proper statement.
Be sure to include a comparison of the observed vs. critical
statistics.
(b) Use SPSS software (statistic) to
follow up on the previous analysis. Show a screenshot of the most
relevant table from the output in this follow-up analysis. Write a
few sentences, including the type of test you did and the relevant
statistics, to summarize the results.
