The question is asking for us to design a AC generator to have a peak voltage of 110 V. We then can choose any values to use to do this. Using a diameter between 1 & 2 meters, number of turns between 100 & 100000, and magnets magnetic field between 5 & 100 mT. Depending on what values we use, we then have to figure out how fast the coil needs to rotate to generate the desired peak voltage. < this is for part a. For part b, we just convert the answer from part a to "Hz" and answer the question for (i), then discuss how we would design another AC generator so that it operates at 60 Hz. For #2 we use the AC generator we made in #1 to answer the questions. Thank you so much ! (: let me know if this is hard to understand?
Diameter = 1 meter# of turns = 100 turnsmagnet magnetic field = 5 mT Now should be able to answer ?
# of turns = 100 turns
magnet magnetic field = 5 mT
Now should be able to answer ?
Problems: For the following problems, we will be building AC electronic Devices. You will need to pick values to get your conclusions. Be mindful that this will lead to all solutions being different. Feel free to google some of the terms in the problems 1. We are designing an AC signal generator. We need the signal to have a peak voltage of 110 V. o Pick the diameter of the circular loop to be somewhere between 1 and 2 meters Pick the number of turns with some value between 100 and 10000 • Pick a value for your magnet's magnetic field to be between 5 and 100 m a (5 pts) Using the values you picked, figure out how fast the coil needs to rotate to generate the desired peak voltage. Give your answer in pm (revolutions per minute) Here are some things to consider We need to know much time we need to go from zero volts to the peak voltage il Does that time represent a whole revolution? Or half a revolution? Think about what the coil is doing b. (5 pts) Power plants provide electricity at 60 Hz Convert your answer for a to Hz, and compare Is your required frequency larger? Smaller? Discuss in words (no need to do additional calculations) how you would redesign your AS generator so that it operates at 60 Hz 2. (5 pts) We need to use the AC generator that we built in part 1, to power an electronic device with a 1250 resistance operating at 10W average power. Note: We can assume that the only opposition current here is resistance Design a transformer that takes in your AC signal generator as an input and delivers the required power to your electronic device by choosing the number of primary and secondary windings on the transformer Make sure you provide the following information Number of primarily loop windings (needs to be greater than 1) Number of Secondary loop windings (needs to be greater than 1) ill. Calculations to support your transformer design 1. 1 11.
