A power plant used a combined Brayton Ranking cycle to generate electricity. The Brayton cycle has a pressure ratio of 8. Air enters the compressor and turbine at 25 C and 1000C respectively. The isentropic efficiency of the turbine and compressor is 80%. The ideal Rankine cycle is operating between pressures 7 MPa and 5 KPa respectively. Steam is heated in a heat exchanger to a temperature of 500 C. The exhaust gases leave the heat exchanger at 175°C. The Brayton cycle portion of the power plant can be treated with an air-standard analysis. Answer the following questions: a) State your assumptions explicitly b) Calculate the enthalpy of all 9 principal states. Present your final answers in a table format. c) Draw the T-S diagram of the Brayton and Rankine portion of the power plant d) What is the thermal efficiency of the Brayton and Rankine cycle. What is the thermal efficiency of the combined system
