The beam shown in the figure below has a width of 14 in., a
total depth of 26 in., and depth of reinforcement of 22.5 in.
(cover of 3.5 in.). The span from center-line of column to
center-line of column is 30 ft and the beam is subjected to a
uniformly distributed factored load of 8 kip/ft (applied to
the top face of the beam). Assuming the case of uniform load
over the entire span, the distance from the center-line of the
column to the section, where only the minimum amount of shear
reinforcement is required shall be:
Column width is 30 in. and concrete strength is 4000 psi
