A speeding car is going 78 mi/hr. The driver hits the
brakes to slow the car down to the 50 mi/hr speed limit. The car
has a mass of 1.0 metric tons (1 metric ton = 1000 kg). What is the
magnitude of the impulse on the car?
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a big
fall. If Humpty Dumpty's mass is 14 kg, and the wall's height is 5
meters, how much impulse did gravity exert on Humpty Dumpty during
his fall? (Humpty Dumpty is pretty aerodynamic, so you can neglect
air resistance. Note that "how much impulse" means "what is the
magnitude of the impulse".)
