The spring is initially at its relaxed length and is connected to a rigid wall. A bullet of mass 5 g moving with speed 400 m/s is fired into the block and emerges from the other end of the block. The collision is not elastic. If the block moves a distance of 5 em to the right after impact, find the speed v of the bullet after the collision and before it hits the wall. Assume that the block doesn't start moving until the bullet completely emerges from the block. (Hint: conserve momentum during the collision, conserve energy after the collision.) 400 m/s
