Open with Google Docs Patient self-report: A young woman self-reports that she has been experiencing pain in her lower back. She also mentions that she has been urinating frequently over the past few days and that it had been stinging to go to the bathroom more and more as the days go on. She also mentions her urine appears cloudy and has a strong odar. Bathroom Symptoms: During your examination you palpate her back where she indicates the pain is, and notice that as you palpate laterally, she is feeling sharper pain. You begin to notice that she is shaking with chills and progressively looking unwell, so you take her vitals to find that she has a fever. Q + Page 2
Diagnosis: Given the symptoms above what would your diagnosis for this patient be? Questions: 1. What is your initial diagnosis based on just the self-reported symptoms? 2. Based on your initial diagnosis from question 1 and the symptoms revealed after your examination; what is your more specific diagnosis for this patient? 3. Based on your overall diagnoses, what are some potential treatments for this patient? Page 3/3 Q+
