The CBOD and NBOD reaction rate coefficients for this stream are 0.14 day-¹ and 0.3 day-¹ respectively. a) Calculate the theoretical oxygen demand (ThOD) of the stream. (7) b) Calculate the times required for 95% degradation of carbon and 99% of nitrogen. Assume the ultimate BOD to be 80% of the ThOD for carbonaceous matter. (7) c) Calculate the CBOD exerted on day 3 and day 35 and comment on observed differences between the two CBOD values. (6)
