A) In the experiment to measure latent heat of ice, you get the
following data. What is the latent heat of ice in J/kg? (answer
within +-3% will considered correct) (Since the numbers are
chosen randomly, the answer may not represent
the actual value of latent heat)
MASSES: water= 183 g, ice=48 g,
calorimeter=77 g
INITIAL TEMPERATURES: water+calorimeter=30ºC, Ice=0ºC
Final equilibrium temp=13ºC
Calorimeter is made of aluminum.
B) In the previous problem, if the temperature of ice were
actually -10ºC, but was taken to be 0ºC in the calculation, how
would that affect the calculated answer?
