A company wants to improve its sales and past sales data
indicate that the average sale was $110 per transaction. After a
training program to the salesmen, recent sales data (taken from a
sample of 25 salesmen) have returned as follows: 110, 115, 112,
130, 124, 165, 110, 125, 136, 105, 102, 98, 106, 113, 114, 90, 97,
86, 120, 135, 108, 129, 131, 107, 132 with a standard deviation of
$15. Did the training work? Test the hypothesis at a 5% level of
significance.
