Laura has just opened a bakery. After one month, she decides she needs to start tracking her sales. She sells three different kinds of bread. Type I takes 3 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar, and 1 cup of oil. Type II takes 4 cups of flour, 2 cups of sugar and ½ cup of oil. Type III takes 3 cups of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of oil. On Monday, Laura notices she has used 92 cups of flour, 48 cups of sugar, and 24 cups of oil. She wants to figure out how many of each type of bread she sold that day. Assume that all the bread Laura makes each day is sold 1) Write a system of equations that displays this information. 2) Using elimination, solve this system of equations to find how many loaves of each type of bread Laura sold on Monday. 92 3) Consider the matrix 48 which shows the number of cups of each ingredient Laura 24 used on Monday. Laura kept track for one week and found that Tuesday through Friday she sold the same number of each type of loaves. On Saturday, however, the [154 amount of ingredients she used can be shown by the following matrix: 80 Using 38 scalar multiplication and matrix addition show how many cups of each ingredient she used for the week. Assume that the bakery is closed on Sunday. 4) Using matrix inverses, calculate the number of each type of bread she sold on Saturday alone. Show all necessary work. Hint- begin by creating a matrix with the opening information and use the column matrix given at the end of question 3. 5) Laura figures out the following cost matrix per cup of each of the ingredients [0.25 0.15 0.40] (displayed in dollars). Using matrix multiplication, find out how much it costs Laura to supply these three ingredients in her bakery.
