Ext-7.3 (20 points) Consider van der Waals equation of state in reduce form: 3 = - PR 8 TR 3VR - 1 a) Derive an equation for the saturation curve, P Bat= f (TR. VR£ VRs), and P Bat = f (TR, VR£ X'Rs) b) Evaluate reduced saturation pressure, PR-sat, and reduced specific volumes of saturated liquid and vapor for TR = 0.7 and compare the results with the actual properties of propane c) Evaluate reduced specific volumes of spinodal liquid and vapor TR = 0.7. d) Using the result from part (b), deduce , ac and compare the results evaluated from property tables e) Using the result from part (b), evaluate hfg = (hg - hf) and sfg=(sg-sf), at TR = 0.7 and compare them with the actual properties from property tables for propane.
