A 24 ft long W6x15 steel column is subjected to an axial load of 263 kips. The column is embedded at both ends. Determine the following: If the column resists the applied load (Prove your answer) In case of not resisting the applied load, propose a solution so that the column does not fail, considering that the section of the column cannot be changed and the length cannot be modified either. Consider the modulus of elasticity of steel to be 29x103ksi with a yield stress of 60 ksi. Likewise, the moments of inertia of the column with respect to its "X" and "Y" axes are 29.1 in4 and 9.32 in4, respectively. The cross sectional area is 4.43 in2 Y W6x15 X
